Regular Season Round 55: Bambitious Nara - Hiroshima L. 118-58

Rather expected game when 12th ranked Hiroshima L. (1-45) was smashed on the road by tenth ranked Bambitious Nara (16-33) 118-58 on Saturday. The game without a history. Bambitious Nara led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Hiroshima L. to just 6 points in first quarter. Bambitious Nara dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Hiroshima L.'s 14. Bambitious Nara forced 25 Hiroshima L. turnovers and outrebounded them 48-23 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Bambitious Nara looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Hiroshima L.'s players. It was a very good performance for American Josh Ritchart (206, college: Cal-Davis) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Junpei Junpei (190-88) contributed with 26 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 steals (on 11-of-12 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Bambitious Nara players scored in double figures. Bambitious Nara's coach Eto Kohei felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Hiroshi Funayama (190-92) answered with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds and Tetsuya Maemura added 18 points in the effort for Hiroshima L.Bambitious Nara moved-up to ninth place. Hiroshima L. lost their 32th game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the twelfth position with 45 games lost. Bambitious Nara will face again Hiroshima L. (#12) at home in the next round.
