Everything could happen in Juana Diaz at the game between two tied teams. Both ninth ranked Atleticos and 10th ranked Leones had identical 10-14 record. But Leones were not able to use a home court advantage and were defeated by the opponent from San German 80-75. Atleticos outrebounded Leones 42-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Egyptian-American center Omar Samhan (211-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: Inception Sports) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Leones' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Atleticos maintains ninth place with 11-14 record. Defending champion Leones keep the tenth position with 15 games lost. Atleticos' next round opponent will be higher ranked Vaqueros (#4) in Bayamon and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Leones will play at home against Brujos (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
