The game had a very big importance for third-ranked Diamond Valley Eagles as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Diamond Valley Eagles smashed 11th ranked Devils in Greensborough 112-78. They outrebounded Devils 47-29 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Diamond Valley Eagles shot the lights out from three sinking 17 long-distance shots on high 56.7 percentage. The best player for the winners was naturalized Canadian guard Dejan Vasiljevic (187-97) who scored 42 points (!!!). Blacio Owili chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 14 rebounds. Diamond Valley Eagles' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Jeremy Smith (190, college: Nicholls St.) who recorded 20 points and his fellow American import guard Jordan Hughes (192-92, college: Dakota St.) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Devils at the other side dropped to the eighth place with four games lost. Devils will play next round against Whittlesea City trying to get back on the winning streak. Diamond Valley Eagles will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Whittlesea City in Mill Park.
