There was no surprise when 17th ranked Istanbul DSI (8-23) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Pertevniyal (14-17) 80-70. The hosts were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 3-point deficit before their 26-13 run, which allowed them to win the game. It was an exceptional evening for American point guard Glenn Cosey (183-92, college: E.Kentucky, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who led the winners and scored 21 points and 5 assists. International center Emircan Kosut (216-95) accounted for 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winning side. Four Pertevniyal players scored in double figures. American forward Mikael Hopkins (206, college: Georgetown) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and the other American import point guard Derek Williams (185-85, college: SMU) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for Istanbul DSI in the defeat. Pertevniyal maintains tenth place with 14-17 record. Istanbul DSI lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 23 games lost. Pertevniyal's next round opponent will be higher ranked Gelisim (#8) in Izmir and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Istanbul DSI will play at home against Meliksah (#11) and hope to win that game.
