Regular Season Round 55: Iwate Big Bulls - Shinshu BW 78-79

Important game to mention about took place in Iwate. Seventh ranked Shinshu BW (25-24) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked Iwate Big Bulls (28-21) 79-78 on Saturday evening. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-16. But Iwate Big Bulls won second period 23-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Shinshu BW had a 29-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American power forward Xavier Gibson (210-88, college: Florida St., agency: Comsport) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import forward Michael Bell (206-82, college: Florida Atlantic) helped adding 23 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side American forward Patrick Sanders (201-85, college: Cal-Irvine, agency: Interperformances) responded with 23 points and 5 rebounds and guard Fujie Tatsunori (184-87) scored 17 points and 4 assists. Iwate Big Bulls' coach Geoffrey Katsuhisa rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Shinshu BW maintains seventh place with 25-24 record. Iwate Big Bulls at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 21 games lost. Shinshu BW will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Iwate Big Bulls will play again at home against Shinshu BW (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
