Regular Season Round 26: Rabotnicki - Karpos Sokoli 80-98

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Skopje: Karpos Sokoli (#2) and Rabotnicki (#6). Rabotnicki was smashed at home by 18 points 80-98 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. The game was mostly controlled by Karpos Sokoli. Rabotnicki managed to win fourth quarter 31-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Karpos Sokoli dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Rabotnicki's 26. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Serbian center Dusan Knezevic (207-80, agency: BeoExcell) scored 18 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and Serbian Aleksandar Petrovic (203-87, agency: HMS) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Karpos Sokoli players scored in double figures. Karpos Sokoli's coach Sinisa Matic used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international Gjorgi Cekovski (203-79) responded with 28 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Dimitar Mirakovski (177-81, agency: Interperformances) scored 17 points and 9 assists. Karpos Sokoli maintains second position with 19-7 record having three points less than leader MZT Skopje. Rabotnicki lost third consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 16 games lost. Karpos Sokoli are looking forward to face Feni Industries (#4) in Kavadarci in the next round. Rabotnicki will play on the road against Strumica in Strumica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
