Finals Game 1: Haukar - Snaefell 65-64

Haukar escaped with a narrow home win over Snaefell in the Finals opener. Snaefell trailed by 13 points after 3 quarters before a 26-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 64-65 at the end of the game. Haukar dominated on the defensive end, holding Snaefell to just 6 points in first quarter. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Haukar made 7 blocks. The former international point guard Palina Gunnlaugsdottir (168-87) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and the former international swingman Helena Sverrisdottir (184-88, college: TCU) chipped in 17 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American point guard Haiden Palmer (173-91, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 18 rebounds and 6 assists and international guard Gunnhildur Gunnarsdottir (176-90) scored 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Snaefell players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
