Second Stage Round 9: Barcelos - Ovarense 65-87
Date: April 16, 2016
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Ovarense (9-10) crushed on the road 6th ranked Barcelos (4-15) 87-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. Ovarense led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Barcelos' 24. It was a good game for American power forward Raven Barber (206, college: Mt.St.Mary's) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). The former international forward Miguel Miranda (205-78) contributed with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Ovarense players scored in double figures. American guard Andrew Ferry (190-90, college: Cornell) answered with 20 points and Serbian swingman Igor Djukovic (202-87, agency: Dynamics Global Management) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Barcelos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ovarense have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Barcelos lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. Ovarense will face Galitos-Tley (#4) in Barreiro in the next round. Barcelos will play on the road against the league's second-placed FC Porto Ferpinta and hope to win that game.
