There was no surprise when 8th ranked Monteroni (13-16) lost on the road to fourth ranked Campli (22-7) 94-86 on Sunday. Campli forced 24 Monteroni turnovers. Strangely Monteroni outrebounded Campli 40-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. Guard Antonio Serroni (192-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points. David Petrucci (188-85) contributed with 23 points and 5 steals for the winners. Naturalized Dominican guard Yancarlos Jefferson Rodriguez (195-94) answered with 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and center Manuele Mocavero (203-80) added 18 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Monteroni. Four Monteroni players scored in double figures. Monteroni's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Campli moved-up to third place in B, which they share with Bergamo. Loser Monteroni keeps the eighth position with 16 games lost. Campli will face Martina Franca (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Monteroni will play against Valmontone (#12) and hope to win that game.
