Regular Season Round 29: Hapoel Eilat - Ironi Nes-Ziona 77-67

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona (10-19) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Hapoel Eilat (16-13) 77-67. It looked good early as Ironi Nes-Ziona took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hapoel Eilat had a 28-8 second period charge getting the lead and Ironi Nes-Ziona was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-77. American Khalif Wyatt (193-91, college: Temple) nailed 21 points for the winning side and Nigerian power forward Alade Aminu (210-87, college: Georgia Tech, agency: Three Eye Sports) accounted for 8 points and 15 rebounds. Four Hapoel Eilat players scored in double figures. American forward Mitchell Watt (208-89, college: Buffalo) came up with 12 points and 9 rebounds and the other American import guard Sundiata Gaines (185-86, college: Georgia) added 16 points respectively for Ironi Nes-Ziona in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Hapoel Eilat. They maintain fourth place with 16-13 record. Ironi Nes-Ziona at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 19 games lost. Hapoel Eilat's next round opponent will be league's leader Hapoel Jerusalem on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Ironi Nes-Ziona will play against Hapoel Tel-Aviv (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
