Quarter-Finals Round 1: Rio Claro - Flamengo 79-88

Flamengo topped Rio Claro in the quarterfinal series opener. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-13. But Rio Claro won second period 19-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Flamengo shot 62.5 percent from the field. The former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) nailed 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and international point guard Rafael Freire Luz (188-92) accounted for 16 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Point guard Eric Romualdo (185-83) came up with 23 points, 5 assists and 5 steals and the former international Guilherme Teichmann (206-83, college: Tulsa) added 12 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Rio Claro in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
