The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (13-6) on the court of tenth ranked Pioneros Los Mochis on Tuesday night. Visitors were defeated by Pioneros Los Mochis 84-76. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ostioneros de Guaymas. American Leon Gibson (206-91, college: Houston) had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 20 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Juan Favela (183-91) chipped in 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. Favela is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Pioneros Los Mochis players scored in double figures. Pioneros Los Mochis' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American guard Justin Bocot (193-88, college: S.Illinois) responded with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and his fellow American import swingman Ryan Holmes (198-82, college: Philander Smith) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Pioneros Los Mochis (8-11) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with 3 other teams. Ostioneros de Guaymas at the other side still keep top position with six games lost. Pioneros Los Mochis is again looking forward to face league's leader Ostioneros de Guaymas at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Ostioneros de Guaymas will have a break next round.
