Eighth-ranked Gmunden Swans (13-19) were very close to win a game against sixth ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (17-15) on Wednesday. Furstenfeld Panthers managed to secure only three-point victory 75-72. However their fans expected easier game. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 24-15. But Gmunden Swans won second period 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by American power forward Gary Ware (205-83, college: Purdue, agency: Interperformances) who scored that evening 19 points and Croatian swingman Luka Katura (194-89) supported him with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Even 19 points by international point guard Daniel Friedrich (181-92) did not help to save the game for Gmunden Swans. Naturalized German power forward Tilo Klette (206-77) added 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Furstenfeld Panthers and five Gmunden Swans players scored in double figures. Furstenfeld Panthers moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Klosterneuburg and Vienna. Gmunden Swans lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 19 games lost.
