Regular Season Round 38: Neptunas - Dzukija 85-65

Not a big story in a game in Klaipeda where 9th ranked Dzukija (8-27) was rolled over by fifth ranked Neptunas (18-17) 85-65 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Neptunas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Neptunas outrebounded Dzukija 45-25 including a 33-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Australian center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St.) scored 8 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international guard Mindaugas Girdziunas (188-89) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists during the contest. Power forward Julius Jucikas (205-89) responded with 20 points and American forward Jeff Robinson (198-88, college: Seton Hall) scored 7 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Neptunas moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Juventus. Dzukija at the other side keeps the ninth position with 27 games lost. Neptunas will face bottom-ranked Nevezis (#10) in Kedainiai in the next round where they are favorite. Dzukija will play on the road against the league's second-placed Lietuvos rytas in Vilnius and hope to win that game.
