Bucaneros upset Guaiqueries to even things up at 2-2. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Guaiqueries won third quarter 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Strangely Guaiqueries outrebounded Bucaneros 40-22 including a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. The former international guard Jesus Centeno (190-85) fired 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Spanish-Dominican Orlando Sanchez (206-88, college: St.John's) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Bucaneros' coach Luis Guil used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American center Dwayne Jones (211-83, college: St.Joseph's) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 16 rebounds and the former international swingman Cesar Silva (190-81) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side.
