Regular Season Round 27: Kumanovo - MZT Skopje 80-70

Top ranked MZT Skopje (23-3) recorded its third loss on the court of third ranked Kumanovo 2009 on Wednesday night. Visitors were defeated by Kumanovo 2009 80-70. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of MZT Skopje. The game was mostly controlled by Kumanovo 2009. MZT Skopje managed to win fourth quarter 21-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was the former international point guard Aleksandar Kostoski (186-88, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. International swingman Marko Simonovski (191-89, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Four Kumanovo 2009 players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian guard Marko Ljubicic (195-87) who recorded 24 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian power forward Danilo Mijatovic (207-83) added 15 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Kumanovo 2009 have a solid series of four victories in a row. Kumanovo 2009 maintains third place with 19-8 record having three points less than leader MZT Skopje. Defending champion MZT Skopje still keeps top position with three games lost. Kumanovo 2009 is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Best Gevgelija (#8) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. MZT Skopje's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Skopje Karpos Sokoli.
