Quarter-Finals Round 2: Paulistano - Brasilia 99-78

Paulistano held off Brasilia to even things up at 1-1. The game was mostly controlled by Paulistano. Brasilia was better in second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Brasilia to just 6 points in first quarter. Paulistano made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Brasilia 36-19 including a 27-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Brasilia was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international Luis Felipe Gruber (206-85) notched 21 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international point guard Valtinho Silva (187-77) supported him with 13 points and 7 assists. Four Paulistano players scored in double figures. Even 23 points and 4 assists by international point guard Deryk Ramos (185-94) did not help to save the game for Brasilia. International Guilherme Giovannoni (203-80) added 16 points for the guests. Brasilia's coach Jose Carlos Vidal gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win.
