Second Stage Round 8: Szolnok - Atomeromu 82-61

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Szolnok as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Division. Szolnok smashed 5th ranked Atomeromu at home 82-61. The game was mostly controlled by Szolnok. Atomeromu managed to win third quarter 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Szolnok had a 30-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Atomeromu's players. International power forward Akos Keller (208-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 8 rebounds. Serbian forward Strahinja Milosevic (203-85) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Szolnok players scored in double figures. American forward Troy Barnies (200-89, college: Maine) replied with 18 points and his fellow American import point guard Christopher Dunn (189-83, college: W.Virginia St., agency: Inception Sports) added 12 points in the effort for Atomeromu. Atomeromu's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Atomeromu at the other side keeps the fifth place with five games lost. Atomeromu will play next round against strong Alba trying to get back on the winning streak. Szolnok will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Kormend on the road.
