Familia Schio rallied past Battipaglia in the opener. The game without a history. Familia Schio led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Battipaglia's 34. Familia Schio forced 22 Battipaglia turnovers and outrebounded them 44-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Battipaglia's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Familia Schio made 7 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of French center Isabelle Yacoubou (190-86, agency: Comsport) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. American power forward Ashley Walker (187-87, college: California, agency: Merit Management Group) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Five Familia Schio players scored in double figures. American forward Rashanda Gray (191-93, college: High School) answered with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Dutch Kourtney Treffers (187-94, agency: Court Side) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Battipaglia. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
