Regular Season Round 28: Humacao - Quebradillas 76-88
Date: April 22, 2016
The game between 4th ranked Caciques (15-13) and sixth ranked Piratas (15-14) in Humacao on Friday ended with biggest points difference. Guests from Quebradillas beat Caciques 88-76. The game was mostly controlled by Piratas. Caciques managed to win fourth quarter 31-26. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The winners were led by the former international Elias Ayuso (190-77, college: USC, agency: Paris Global Sports) who scored that evening 18 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American forward Brian Conklin (198-89, college: St.Louis) supported him with 12 points and 9 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points and 18 rebounds by Dominican forward Jack Michael Martinez (201-81) did not help to save the game for Caciques. American forward Brandon Costner (206-87, college: N.Carolina St.) added 21 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. Four Piratas and five Caciques players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Piratas have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain sixth position with 15-14 record. Caciques lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the fourth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Bayamon. Piratas will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Caciques will play against Indios (#11) in Mayaguez and hope to secure a win.
