Penas Huesca cruised past Oviedo at the start of the quarterfinal stage. The game without a history. Lobe Huesca led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Lobe Huesca forced 19 Oviedo CB turnovers. Icelandic point guard Aegir Steinarsson (185-91, college: Newberry, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) stepped up and scored 17 points for the winners and Serbian center Goran Huskic (210-92, college: Howard Col., TX) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Lobe Huesca players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Mario Cabanas (207-85) responded with 15 points and American forward Drew Windler (206-91, college: Belmont) scored 9 points and 8 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
