Alianza Viedma held off Gimnasia LP in the decisive fifth game of the series and advanced into the quarterfinal stage. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Alianza Viedma's pressure prevailed and they won that period 21-11 extending their advantage to 16 points. They made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. American forward Scott Cutley (196-85, college: CS Fullerton) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 5 rebounds. Agustin Ambrosino (203-90, college: BYU) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Cutley is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Power forward Lisandro Villa (198-87) answered with 21 points and 7 rebounds and forward Maximiliano Segon (200-91) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Gimnasia LP.
