The game between Top Four teams took place in Mazatlan. Third ranked host Lobos UAD Mazatlan (16-9) defeated 4th ranked Caballeros de Culiacan (14-9) 102-84. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Caballeros de Culiacan. Caballeros de Culiacan was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Canadian forward Marvell Waithe (205-87, college: Arkansas) notched 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American guard Jeff Ledbetter (190-88, college: Idaho) supported him with 17 points and 6 steals. Five Lobos UAD Mazatlan players scored in double figures. Even 25 points by American power forward Benjamin Puckett (205-83, college: Clayton St.) did not help to save the game for Caballeros de Culiacan. American-Jordanian swingman Jimmy Baxter (196-80, college: S.Florida) added 16 points and 6 rebounds for the guests. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lobos UAD Mazatlan have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Caballeros de Culiacan at the other side keeps the fourth position with nine games lost. They share it with Guasave. Lobos UAD Mazatlan will again play against Caballeros de Culiacan (#5) at home in the next round. Caballeros de Culiacan will have a break next round.
