Regular Season Round 12: Condores - Cimarrones 75-62

Round 12 in Liga DirecTV means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Cundinamarca where host Condores (5-7) beat league's leader Cimarrones (9-3) 75-62 on Tuesday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cimarrones. Condores forced 20 Cimarrones turnovers and outrebounded them 42-31 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. The former international power forward Jairo Mendoza (203-85, college: New Orleans) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international forward Cesar Ordonez (196) who recorded 17 points and American guard Brandon Sperling (196-90, college: Humboldt St.) added 11 points respectively. Condores maintains sixth position with 5-7 record. Cimarrones at the other side dropped to the second place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Academia. Cimarrones will play next round against Halcones trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Condores will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Piratas in Bogota.
