9th ranked Manati (14-16) fell to tenth ranked Atleticos (14-17) in overtime by three points 93-96 on Thursday night. The game took place in Manati. But the guests from San German were better at the end. The guests were tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they managed to win overtime period 10-7. Atleticos looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Egyptian-American center Omar Samhan (211-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) accounted for 21 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winning side. Atleticos' coach Bobby Porrata used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) came up with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Dominican point guard Adris De Leon (180-84, college: E.Washington) added 26 points respectively for Manati in the defeat. Five Atleticos and four Manati players scored in double figures. Atleticos maintains tenth place with 14-17 record. Manati at the other side keeps the ninth position with 16 games lost. Atleticos will meet at home higher ranked Leones (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Manati will play against Vaqueros in Bayamon and hope to secure a win.
