Regular Season Round 34: Chartres - Caen 69-85

Everything went according to plan when seventh ranked Caen (19-15) beat on the road 9th ranked UB Chartres (17-17) 85-69. The game was mostly controlled by Caen. UB Chartres was better in fourth quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded UB Chartres 46-33 including 35 on the defensive glass. Caen players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by UB Chartres helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Bill Clark (196-88, college: Duquesne, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists. Serbian-Montenegrin center Nemanja Calasan (204-85, college: Purdue) contributed with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Caen players scored in double figures. American point guard Benjamin Smith (178-87, college: Jacksonville, agency: Comsport) replied with 23 points and 6 assists and Lithuanian forward Vaidotas Pridotkas (200-84) added 16 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for UB Chartres. Caen moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Maurienne. UB Chartres at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 17 games lost.
