Quarter-Finals Round 3: Caceres - Melilla 82-88 OT

Melilla survived an overtime thriller versus Caceres to complete the sweep of the quarterfinal series. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 17-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 17-11. Melilla Baloncesto dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Caceres Basket's 26. Melilla Baloncesto shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. Melilla Baloncesto looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Brandon Edwards (198-91, college: Texas Arlington, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Marcos Suka-Umu (192-85, agency: Interperformances) contributed with 12 points and 9 assists for the winners. Four Melilla Baloncesto players scored in double figures. Senegalese forward Ibrahima Thomas (213-87, college: Cincinnati) answered with 24 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Jose Antonio Marco (179-89) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Caceres Basket. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game.
