Lucca survived an overtime thriller to tame Venezia for the opening victory in the semifinal series. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime then Venezia managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Lucca who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 10-6. They made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. Worth to mention a great performance of American-New Zealand guard Jillian Harmon (185-87, college: Stanford, agency: Players Group) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 7 rebounds. International swingman Martina Crippa (178-89, agency: Players Group) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. The former international guard Benedetta Bagnara (178-87, agency: LBM Management) answered with 21 points and Slovakian center Marie Ruzickova (189-86, agency: LBM Management) added 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) in the effort for Venezia.
