Regular Season Round 28: Sant Nicolau - Martorell 69-72

A very interesting game took place in Sabadell. It ended with only three-point home defeat of 7th ranked Sant Nicolau (10-9) to eighth ranked Martorell (9-10) 72-69 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sant Nicolau. Sant Nicolau was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Martorell dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Sant Nicolau's 22 and made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. American guard D'Von Campbell (185-92, college: Campbellsville) fired 21 points and 6 assists for the winners. Australian Mabior Deng chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Marc Sobrepera (201-86) produced 19 points and center David Carbonell (201-94) added 14 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Martorell maintains eighth position in Group C Perman with 9-10 record. Sant Nicolau at the other side dropped to the sixth place with nine games lost. Martorell's next round opponent will be Arenys (#9) in Arenys del Mar.
