Regular Season Round 7: Brisbane C. - Bundaberg B. 61-74

There was an upset when much higher ranked Capitals (0-1) lost to thirteenth ranked Bears (1-1) in Brisbane 61-74 on Saturday. Bears forced 21 Capitals turnovers. It was a very good performance for forward Carly Boag (188-95, college: Minot St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points and 17 rebounds. Christina Boag contributed with 9 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Heidi Freeburn (-86) answered with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Madison Woodford added 9 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Capitals. Capitals' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bears left bottom position moving up to seventh place in League. Loser Capitals still closes the standings with one game lost. Bears will face higher ranked Clippers (#4) in Cotton Tree in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Capitals will play against SC Rip (#9) and look forward to get finally their first victory.
