Regular Season Round 28: La Roda - Alcobendas 84-66

No shocking result in a game when ninth ranked La Roda (10-15) beat at home 12th ranked Alcobendas (7-18) 84-66 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by La Roda. Alcobendas was better in third quarter 23-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. La Roda looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a very good performance for Senegalese power forward Michel Diouf (208-90) who helped to win the game recording 28 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Stephon Carter (193-91, college: CSU Bakersfield) contributed with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four La Roda players scored in double figures. Center Jose Maria Gil (207-91) replied with 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and power forward Daniel Trachsel (202-94) added 9 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Alcobendas. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. La Roda have a solid three-game winning streak. Newly promoted La Roda maintains ninth position in Group B with 10-15 record, which they share with Torrelodones. Alcobendas lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the twelfth place with 18 games lost. La Roda will face higher ranked Azuqueca (#6) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Alcobendas will play against the league's second-placed Alcazar (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
