Kouvot overcame Pyrinto in the championship series opener. Tampereen Pyrinto was trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 24-17 charge of Kouvot, which allowed them to win the game. The game was dominated by American players. Guard D.J. Richardson (190-91, college: Illinois, agency: Inception Sports) fired 26 points for the winners. Forward Thomas Gipson (201-93, college: Kansas St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds. Swingman Ricky Minard (196-82, college: Morehead St., agency: SDJ Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and Esian Henderson (205-86, college: Central Mo., agency: HMS) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side.
