The game with biggest result difference took place in Mayaguez. Local Indios (11-20) were outscored by eighth ranked Capitanes (16-15) 102-65. The game without a history. Capitanes led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Indios' 38. They outrebounded Indios 50-28 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Capitanes players were unselfish on offense dishing 32 assists comparing to just 17 passes made by Indios' players. International forward Renaldo Balkman (203-84, college: S.Carolina) nailed a double-double by scoring 27 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Guillermo Diaz (188-85, college: Miami, FL) accounted for 15 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. American Josh Powell (206-83, college: N.Carolina St.) came up with 12 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import guard Gabriel Belardo (188-89, college: FIU) added 12 points respectively for Indios in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Capitanes moved-up to seventh place. Indios lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 20 games lost. Capitanes' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Vaqueros in Bayamon and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Indios will play on the road against Piratas (#8) in Quebradillas and hope to win that game.
