Regular Season Round 33: Humacao - Manati 97-103

We should mention about the upset which took place in Humacao, where higher ranked Caciques (17-16) lost at home to ninth ranked Manati (15-17) 97-103 on Monday. Manati looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Irish-Australian center Andrew James Ogilvy (211-88, college: Vanderbilt) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and the former international swingman Alejandro Carmona (194-83) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American power forward Ivan Johnson (203-84, college: CS San Bernar., agency: Haylett Sports) with 32 points and 9 rebounds and guard Cliff Duran (191-89) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Five Manati and four Caciques players scored in double figures. Caciques' coach rotated twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Manati maintains ninth place with 15-17 record. Loser Caciques dropped to the sixth position with 16 games lost. Manati will meet at home higher ranked Brujos (#5) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Caciques will have a break next round.
