There was no surprise in Coamo where 7th ranked Piratas (16-17) were defeated by fourth ranked Santeros (18-15) 99-95. Santeros dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Piratas' 48. They outrebounded Piratas 52-32 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Chane Behanan (198-92, college: Louisville) nailed a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 18 rebounds for the winning side and international forward Gilberto Clavell (200-89, college: Sam Houston St., agency: Inception Sports) accounted for 22 points and 5 rebounds. Four Santeros players scored in double figures. Santeros' coach Allans Colon allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American-Italian guard Kevin Lisch (188-86, college: St.Louis) came up with 32 points and 7 assists and American forward Brian Conklin (198-89, college: St.Louis) added 22 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Piratas in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Santeros. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bayamon. Piratas at the other side dropped to the eighth position with 17 games lost. Santeros will have a break next round. Piratas will play at home against Indios (#11) and hope to win that game.
