Regular Season Round 29: Agua Prieta - Guaymas 98-88

The game between third ranked Ostioneros de Guaymas (16-10) and eighth ranked Vaqueros (12-14) was the most important one in the last round on Wednesday night. Ostioneros de Guaymas were defeated by Vaqueros in Agua Prieta 98-88. They made 17-of-17 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. Vaqueros looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Forward Dominique Keller (205-88, college: Illinois) stepped up and scored 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) for the winners and guard Steven Pledger (193-90, college: Oklahoma) chipped in 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Keller is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Swingman Devin Green (201-82, college: Hampton, agency: Interperformances) responded with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) and guard Justin Bocot (193-88, college: S.Illinois) scored 17 points and 7 assists. Four Ostioneros de Guaymas players scored in double figures. Vaqueros have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Los Mochis. Ostioneros de Guaymas at the other side keep the third position with ten games lost. Vaqueros will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ostioneros de Guaymas will play at home against Caballeros de Culiacan and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
