Quarter-Finals Round 3: VEF Riga - Valka/Valga 84-79

VEF Riga outgunned Valka/Valga to sweep the quarterfinal series. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 28-16. But Valka/Valga won second period 29-19. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. VEF Riga made 24-of-30 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Valka/Valga was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a quality performance for American forward Josh Harrellson (208-89, college: Kentucky) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. International forward Mareks Mejeris (208-91, agency: Players Group) accounted for 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. VEF Riga's coach Janis Gailitis used entire bench in such tough game. The former international center Jurijs Aleksejevs (202-85) came up with 15 points and 8 rebounds and forward Martins Berkis (198-85) added 19 points respectively for Valka/Valga in the defeat. Four Valka/Valga players scored in double figures.
