Bucaneros outgunned Marinos to win the semifinal series 4-1. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-16. But Marinos won second period 22-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bucaneros made 26-of-34 free shots (76.5 percent) during the game. 29 personal fouls committed by Marinos helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American swingman Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) stepped up and scored 19 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and the former international power forward Hector Romero (202-80, college: New Orleans) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Bucaneros players scored in double figures. American guard Gerald Fitch (191-82, college: Kentucky) responded with 20 points and the former international point guard Diego Guevara (184-77, college: Charlotte) scored 16 points.
