Sagesse topped Moutahed for 1-0 lead in the series. The guests were tied after three quarters but managed to speed up in last quarter eventually winning the game. Sagesse made 28-of-32 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game, while Al Moutahed only scored twelve points from the stripe. Al Moutahed was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Terrell Stoglin (185-91, college: Maryland) nailed 31 points and 4 assists for the winning side and Nigerian-American power forward Ekenechukwu Ibekwe (206-85, college: Maryland) accounted for 17 points and 15 rebounds (made all of his thirteen free throws !!!). Four Sagesse players scored in double figures. American guard Ramel Curry (191-80, college: CSU Bakersfield) came up with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import guard Michael Taylor (186-86, college: Iowa St.) added 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Al Moutahed in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
