Regular Season Round 36: Quebradillas - San German 76-99

We should mention about the upset which took place in Quebradillas, where 6th ranked Piratas (18-18) were outleveled at home by ninth ranked Atleticos (16-19) 99-76 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Piratas. The game was mostly controlled by Atleticos. Piratas was better in second period 21-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Atleticos dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Piratas' 30. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The best player for the winners was Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: Inception Sports) who scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) chipped in 20 points. Four Atleticos players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jordan Glynn (200-89, college: SF Austin) who recorded 10 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Carmelo Lee (201-77, college: Long Beach St., agency: Paris Global Sports) added 12 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Atleticos maintains ninth position with 16-19 record. Loser Piratas dropped to the seventh place with 18 games lost. Atleticos will face league's second-placed Vaqueros in Bayamon in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
