The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Vaqueros as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Vaqueros edged 9th ranked Atleticos in Bayamon 80-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Atleticos. The hosts trailed by 15 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 3 points. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Jesse Pellot-Rosa (193-84, college: VCU, agency: Paris Global Sports) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 8 rebounds. The former international guard Miguel Ali Berdiel (198-83, college: Valparaiso) contributed with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Egyptian-American center Omar Samhan (211-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and Cuban center Ismael Romero (203-91, agency: Paris Global Sports) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Atleticos.
