Cocodrilos rallied past Bucaneros in the opening game of LPB Finals. The hosts trailed by 6 points after three quarters before their 35-24 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Cocodrilos dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to Bucaneros' 48. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. 25 personal fouls committed by Bucaneros helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American forward Wendell McKines (198-88, college: N.Mexico St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners and his fellow American import guard Carl Elliott (193-83, college: G.Washington) chipped in 19 points, 7 rebounds and 11 assists. Cocodrilos' coach Nestor Salazar used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side American swingman Jordan Hamilton (201-90, college: Texas) responded with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Bulgarian power forward Dejan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
