Homenetmen upset Al Riyadi on the road in the opening game of the semifinal series. The game without a history. Homenetmen led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American forward Dewayne Jackson (203-90, college: Morgan St., agency: Higher Vision Sports) stepped up and scored 31 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and the former international swingman Ahmad Ibrahim (198-92, college: Rice) chipped in 23 points. At the losing side naturalized Egyptian power forward Ahmad Ismail (205-76) responded with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international forward Ali Haidar (201-90, college: Michigan Tech) scored 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Al Riyadi players scored in double figures. Al Riyadi's coach Slobodan Subotic rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
