Aris defeated Panathinaikos to force the decisive fifth game in the semifinal series. The hosts trailed by 10 points at the halftime before their 37-21 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Aris dominated on the defensive end, holding Panathinaikos to just 5 points in third quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Jerel McNeal (191-87, college: Marquette) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds and the other American import forward Okaro White (206-92, college: Florida St.) who added 10 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American Elliot Williams (196-89, college: Memphis) responded with 19 points and 5 rebounds and the former international point guard Dimitris Diamantidis (196-80) scored 9 points and 5 rebounds.
