Quarter-Finals Round 2: Brussels - Spirou 90-67

Brussels booked their first ever semifinal appearance following a comfortable victory over Spirou. It looked good early as Spirou Charleroi took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Basic-Fit Brussels had a 25-16 second period charge getting the lead and Spirou Charleroi was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-90. Basic-Fit Brussels made 16-of-20 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three nailing 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. Basic-Fit Brussels players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Spirou Charleroi was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. Point guard Donald Sims (185-87, college: Appalachian St., agency: Pensack Sports) scored 26 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and power forward Julian Gamble (207-89, college: Miami, FL) chipped in 17 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Five Basic-Fit Brussels players scored in double figures. Seamus Boxley (201-82, college: Portland St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds and guard Jimmy Baron (191-86, college: Rhode Island) scored 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
