Semi-Finals Game 2: Liepaja/Triobet - Valmiera 71-80

Valmiera rolled past Liepaja/Triobet to secure the second straight victory in the series. Liepaja/Triobet trailed by 11 points at halftime and as many as 23 after three quarters before a 36-22 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 71-80 at the end of the game. Liepaja/Triobet was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international Martins Laksa (200-90) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Kwamain Mitchell (178-89, college: St.Louis) chipped in 14 points during the contest. Center Klavs Cavars (205-96) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Kris Richard (196-89, college: Tulane) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
