Regular Season Round 33: Hapoel T-A - Maccabi Haifa 90-75

The game between third ranked Maccabi Haifa (19-14) and eighth ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (15-18) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Maccabi Haifa was defeated by Hapoel Tel-Aviv in Tel-Aviv 75-90. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Maccabi Haifa. The hosts trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 51-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. 24 personal fouls committed by Maccabi Haifa helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for the former international Raviv Limonad (191-84) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 6 assists. American forward Demitrius Conger (198-90, college: St.Bonaventure) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Hapoel Tel-Aviv players scored in double figures. American swingman Rene Rougeau (198-86, college: UNLV) answered with 18 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import swingman William Graves (198-88, college: N.Carolina) added 17 points in the effort for Maccabi Haifa. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hapoel Tel-Aviv moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Bnei Hertzeliyya. Maccabi Haifa at the other side keeps the third position with 14 games lost.
