There was no surprise in Tullamarine where 5th ranked Hume City Broncos (7-4) were defeated by second ranked Knox Raiders (8-1) 91-84 on Saturday. Knox Raiders made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. American power forward Charles Polk (200-84, college: Butler) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard Mike Rose (193-87, college: E.Kentucky) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Naturalized British guard Lee Jeka (193-83) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and American forward Jamal Brown (198-78, college: TCU) added 19 points and 13 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Hume City Broncos players scored in double figures. Knox Raiders maintains second position in League with 8-1 record having just nine point less than leader Townsville H. Loser Hume City Broncos keep the fifth place with four games lost. Knox Raiders will face Whittlesea City (#10) in Mill Park in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hume City Broncos will play on the road against Devils (#9) in Werribee and hope to win that game.
