Quarter-Finals Round 1: Strasbourg - Pau-Lacq-Orthez 72-67

Strasbourg outlasted Pau-Lacq-Orthez in the opener. The hosts were already 11 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 25-19 Pau-Lacq-Orthez's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 72-67 at the end of the game. It was a very good performance for American guard Mardy Collins (198-84, college: Temple) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds. Power forward Bangaly Fofana (213-89) contributed with 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Michael Thompson (177-89, college: Northwestern) answered with 20 points and the other American import forward Steven Smith (203-83, college: La Salle) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game.
