Vasco Da Gama rallied past Ginastico to take 1-0 lead in the semifinal series. The game without a history. Vasco Da G. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three sinking 21 long-distance shots on high 67.7 percentage. Vasco Da G. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The former international Marcio Dornelles (196-75) stepped up and scored 30 points for the winners and Nigerian-American center Jefferson Agba (208-80, college: Embry Riddle) chipped in 16 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side forward Fernando Alvim (201-80) responded with 15 points and 7 rebounds and guard Alef Alves (185-95) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Five Vasco Da G. and four Ginastico players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
